CST

What is CST?

The Sustainable Tourism Certificate (CST) is a program of the Instituto Costarricense de Turismo (ICT).It was designed to categorize and distinguish tourism companies according to the level at which their operations correspond to the sustainability of natural, cultural and social resources.

Sustainability Policies

  • It is the responsibility of each team member to report and ensure that the standards are met and report cases where those parameters are not met.
  • Learn about how to recycle and how it is being developed in the country.
  • Sort waste according to the type of material.
  • Avoid the use of plastic bags.
  • Reuse and recycle materials such as paper, plastic and compost.
  • Use rechargeable batteries for different activities.
  • The extraction of any type of wildlife is prohibited.
  • Do not buy products that are harmful to the environment
  • When you buy paper sheets you must have the FSC label that guarantees that the paper was made from eucalyptus pulp from renewable forests.
  • Buy products in reusable packaging.
  • Smoking is prohibited in all areas where indicated.
  • All tours are focused on the preservation of water, energy and the sustainable use of all natural resources.
  • All the programs aimed at saving water, energy and the sustainable use of resources both in our facilities and in the home are transmitted to the staff and visitors of Aventuras del Sarapiquí.
